DPO and DPVM License Revalidation
The NI DPO and DPVM Licenses are valid for maximum of five years. Before the expiry of your license, you will need to revalidate it. You will have to complete the following requirements for the license revalidation.
Offshore Revalidation
Offshore Revalidation Requirements:
- Provide evidence of 150 days of DP sea time or DP activities within the last five years (duly endorsed DP sea-time confirmation letter from your employer).
- Successfully complete an NI-approved Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program as per the required timeframe. Comprehensive NI-approved CPD program is available on our online-learning platform www.online.lerus.com.
- Pass the NI Revalidation Online Exam with a minimum score of 70%. You can either book invigilated online exam on The NI Alexis Platform or book this exam through Lerus and pass it in one of our DP training centres.
Alternative Options:
- Complete either the DP Refresher and Competency Assessment Course or the DP Revalidation Course.
- If you have 30 to 150 days of sea time, you must take the NI DP Refresher Course.
- If you have less than 30 days of sea time, you must complete the NI DP Revalidation Course.
If you meet the 150-day sea time requirement but still need to complete the CPD or Refresher course, you may still submit your online application through The NI Alexis Platform.
Once payment is completed (at The NI Alexis Platform), an indemnity letter will be emailed to you. This letter is valid for 12 months, allowing you time to fulfil any remaining requirements. Your certificate will remain valid during this period.
⚠️ Important: The indemnity letter cannot be used to fulfil sea time requirements for your application.
Revalidation Process:
The following chart outlines the step-by-step process for submitting your online application through the NI Alexis Platform.
If you meet the sea time requirement but still need to complete the CPD, Revalidation Exam, or required courses, you may still submit your application under Option 2 (refer to the chart).
If you choose Option 2, your sea time will remain valid. Once all additional requirements are completed, log into your account and click Submit to enter the processing queue.
The indemnity letter is not to be used by the applicant to complete any of the sea time requirements for their application.
